Downtime

This took FOREVER to finish, but I am very happy with the end result.

This is currently my favorite ocxcanon pairing of mine. I don't know why, I'm just hooked on this particular show and couple.

Renji and Ayame have an interesting relationship. They live in different worlds, which complicates their relationship. For instance, Ayame is a soul reaper who was born in the world of the living (her parents left the soul society long ago). She befriends Ichigo and the others and assists Ichigo when he goes to the soul society to rescue Rukia from execution. She meets Renji there and eventually forms a relationship with him (starting in the Bount Arc). However, once Rukia is rescued and the Soul Society "friends" Ichigo and the others, Ayame, much to the Soul Society's dismay, refuses to live there. Therefore, when Renji and Ayame's relationship becomes serious and Renji wants her to move to the Soul Society permanently (She goes back and forth between worlds but officially lives in the human world), Ayame has a difficult time agreeing to, seeing as she considers the world of the living her home and doesn't want to completely leave her family and human friends. She does move there eventually, but I have yet to decide when.

As for this picture, I'm not sure when or where it's supposed to take place. Perhaps it's during a time when Ayame visits the Soul Society and Renji has some time off from work.
